Scope and acceptance
By using Beat The Queue (the website, ordering flow, merchant dashboard, and related services), you agree to these terms.
These terms are intended for use in the UK. If you are using Beat The Queue outside the UK, additional terms may apply.
Orders and payments
Beat The Queue lets customers place orders with merchants (for example food trucks and mobile vendors) and helps merchants manage ordering and collection.
- Merchant of record. Payments are processed by Stripe and/or Square. For applicable transactions, they act as merchant of record.
- No card storage. Taste Maps Ltd does not store full card details.
- Order accuracy. You are responsible for reviewing your order before submitting it. If you need to change or cancel an order, contact the merchant as soon as possible.
Refunds and complaints
Unless stated otherwise, the merchant handles refunds, complaints, and issues with order fulfilment (for example missing items, quality issues, or delays). We can help route you to the right merchant contact if needed.
Accounts (merchants and future customer accounts)
Merchants may be required to create accounts and logins. You must keep your login credentials secure and only allow authorised staff to access your account.
Customers do not currently need an account to place an order. We may introduce optional customer accounts in the future to improve the ordering experience (for example saved details or order history). If we do, we will update these terms and the related privacy information.
Acceptable use
You must not:
- Use Beat The Queue for unlawful, fraudulent, or abusive activity.
- Attempt to bypass security, scrape the service, or disrupt operations.
- Upload malicious code or attempt unauthorised access to any systems.
- Misrepresent your identity or act on behalf of others without permission.
Availability and changes
We aim to keep Beat The Queue available and reliable, but we do not provide a defined service-level agreement (SLA). We may update, change, or suspend parts of the service to maintain security, comply with legal requirements, or improve functionality.
Liability
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability where it would be unlawful to do so (including for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence).
To the extent permitted by law, Taste Maps Ltd is not liable for indirect or consequential losses (for example loss of profits, loss of revenue, or business interruption).
For merchants, to the extent permitted by law, our total liability in connection with the service is limited to the fees paid to us in the three months immediately before the event giving rise to the claim.
Privacy
Our privacy practices are described in the Privacy policy.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except where consumer protection laws give you rights to bring claims elsewhere.
