What personal data we collect

We collect the minimum information needed to take and fulfil an order, and to operate merchant accounts.

  • Customers: name, phone number, and order details (for example items ordered, location or collection details, and timestamps).
  • Merchants: account and login details, business details you provide, and operational information needed to run your store(s) on Beat The Queue.
  • Technical data: IP address and basic device information may be logged for security and reliability (for example abuse prevention and troubleshooting).

We do not intentionally collect sensitive categories of personal data (for example health data). Please avoid sending sensitive data to us.

How we use personal data (and our legal bases)

  • To provide the service (contract): create and manage orders, notify merchants, and help customers collect orders smoothly.
  • To send transactional messages (contract/legitimate interests): for example SMS updates about order status.
  • To run merchant accounts (contract): create logins, manage access, and support day-to-day operations.
  • To keep the platform safe (legitimate interests): prevent fraud/abuse, debug issues, and maintain security.
  • To comply with legal obligations (legal obligation): where applicable (for example tax or accounting).

Beat The Queue does not currently run advertising or tracking programs across the site. If we introduce new tracking or marketing tools in the future, we will update this policy and (where required) provide cookie controls.

Who we share data with

We share personal data with service providers only as needed to deliver Beat The Queue.

  • Payments: Stripe and Square process payments and related payment data. They act as merchant of record for applicable transactions. We do not store full card details.
  • Messaging: Twilio is used to send transactional SMS.
  • Hosting/infra: Azure is used to host and operate parts of the service.

Some providers may process data outside the UK. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for international transfers (for example contractual protections).
